University of Sydney and Vietnam research collaborations celebrated
University of Sydney hosted the Sydney Vietnam Research Innovation Showcase on 13 December 2018 in Hanoi, to highlight successes in research and education between the University and its partners in Vietnam.
The symposium theme was Improving lives through collaborative research and education aims to foster interdisciplinary research and education between the University and its Vietnam partners, with topics ranging from medical studies on maternal health literacy, cerebral palsy and radiology, to social studies on restaurant customer behaviour and society transformations.

Associate Professor Greg Fox from the University of Sydney and Vietnam Head from the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research shared: “The Showcase will explore how the research we are doing can help improve the knowledge in the fields we are working in, through partnership between Vietnamese institutions and the University.

“Since 2013, University of Sydney scholars have attracted more than $11 million dollars of category 1 funding for research in Vietnam with over 150 journal articles about our work there”.
“The Research Innovation Showcase will engage local partners in a new vision for the University of Sydney in Vietnam, build on existing collaborations and encourage new ones.
“We look forward to exploring opportunities to strengthen our cross-disciplinary collaborations in research and education between Australia and Vietnam.”
At the event, A/Prof. Nguyen Viet Nhung, Director of National Lung Hospital was awarded Honor Associate Professor of University of Sydney.
