VCAPS team members attended a training course on systematic review
On Oct 29th,2018, Woolcock Institute of Medical Research (WIMR) hosted an introductory training on systematic review at Hanoi Office.

The training was conducted by Prof Dick Menzies, RECRU, Departments of Medicine and of Epidemiology, Biostatistics & Occupational Health, McGill University, Montreal, Canada. Dr Nguyen Thu Anh, WIMR Vietnam Country Director also co-facilitated the course.

19 participants who have diversified background from Universities, Institutes, and organizations attended this one - day intensive training. All the participants shared interests in systematic review as an independent study, as well as a supplement to provide evidence-based clinical and public health practice in this field.

At the training, the participants were given an overview of systematic review process, meta – analysis, methods of study quality assessment. In this course, all participants also had opportunities to practice to critically appraise systematic review studies. The training once again highlights the importance of systematic review in synthesizing evidence on key research and clinical questions and the application of the research method in public health.
