VCAPS team in Annual Congress of Vietnam Respiratory Society 2018
WIMR and VCAPS staff present and awarded at the 4th annual congress of Vietnam Respiratory Society (VNRS) was held with highlight of “Cooperation for lung health”.
During September 27th and 28th, 2018, the 4th annual congress of Vietnam Respiratory Society (VNRS) was held at National Convention Center, Hanoi with highlight of “Cooperation for lung health”. The event was attended by nearly 1000 delegates including many experts in the field of respiratory medicine from Vietnam, Japan, Australia, France and Italy. “The congress is an opportunity for knowledge exchange in the field of respiratory disease as well as updates on scientific breakthrough in COPD and asthma treatment as well as alternative diagnosis”, said Prof. Ngo Quy Chau, Vice Director of Bach Mai Hospital and also President of VNRS.

In the opening ceremony, Prof. Guy Marks, Assoc. Prof. Greg Fox, Woolcock Investigators and Dr Nguyen Thu Anh, Vietnam Country Director were awarded VNRS compliment for honor their devotion to scientific research and contribution to the advancement of respiratory disease treatment and prevention in Vietnam.

Additionally, besides a comprehensive presentation of Assoc.Prof. Greg Fox on TB active case findings in Vietnam, VCAPS representative contributed to the scientific program of the congress with three presentations, in which Assoc. Prof. Vu Van Giap, PhD student Erick Huang and Study Manager Pham Ngoc Yen presented the preliminary results of VCAPS 1 - 2 and systematic review study. Our team contributed with 3 presentations on the preliminary results of VCAPS. Ms Pham Ngoc Yen was awarded 1st prize for best presentation.
As an international academic conference held once a year, the congress is a prestigious venue for health professionals and researchers in Vietnam. We are looking for the APSR meeting which will be held next year in Hanoi.
